The Illinois Route 66 Centennial Passport is a special, free keepsake created to celebrate 100 years of the Mother Road. Produced by the Illinois Office of Tourism, this 2026 commemorative passport highlights 66 iconic stops between Chicago and St. Louis, with dedicated space and verbiage for each location and stamps to mark your journey along the way.

At each stop, travelers collect a stamp (or snap a photo if the location is closed), then head to a Tourism Information Center to have their progress verified. The New Mexico MainStreet Route 66 Centennial Passport turns a drive across the Land of Enchantment into a sticker-collecting celebration of small towns, local businesses, and 100 years of the Mother Road. Running January through December 2026, this free paper passport invites travelers to visit ten New Mexico MainStreet districts along Route 66—from Gallup and Grants to Tucumcari and Santa Rosa—and collect a unique sticker at participating businesses in each community. Once filled, the passport becomes a colorful keepsake of the centennial while encouraging visitors to explore local shops, arts districts, and historic downtowns. Created by the New Mexico MainStreet Division in partnership with communities along Route 66, the program highlights the people and places that keep Route 66 alive and thriving.
