A new neon glow is coming to Vinita! The Western Motel along Route 66 will unveil its brand-new neon sign with a special lighting ceremony on April 12 at 7 p.m. This event celebrates the rich history of both Route 66 and the Jefferson Highway, honoring the roads that have connected travelers and communities for generations.
Join the celebration and watch as the night is lit up with classic neon! The event will feature live music, food, and more to mark this exciting moment in Vinita’s story.
Located 2 miles west of Vinita, OK, next to the Hi-Way Cafe, the Western Motel received a neon-sign grant through the Oklahoma Route 66 Association and the Route 66 Centennial Commission last fall.
Don’t miss the chance to witness this historic “flip the switch” moment and keep the spirit of Route 66 shining bright!
