$66The 4th Annual Texas Route 66 Motor Tour offers an exciting two-day adventure along the Mother Road, cruising through iconic Route 66 towns in Texas. Starting in Tucumcari, New Mexico, the motor tour will travel through San Jon, Endee, Glenrio, Adrian, Vega, and Amarillo. This event allows participants to experience the rich history and charm of Route 66, with stops at key landmarks, museums, and attractions.
For a $66 entry fee, attendees will receive lunch on both Friday and Saturday, as well as a banquet dinner at The Big Texan on Saturday night. The entry fee also covers admission to various museums and entertainment along the route. The motor tour is a great opportunity to gather with fellow Route 66 enthusiasts, share experiences, and enjoy a variety of events and stops along the way. Whether it’s your first time on the Mother Road or you’ve traveled it many times, this tour promises fun and fellowship for all.
The motor tour is open to everyone, regardless of the type of vehicle. Classic cars are welcome and often take the lead, but any vehicle with wheels—whether it’s a mini van, motorcycle, or even motorhome—can join in the fun. The tour is about camaraderie, discovery, and enjoying the journey along historic Route 66.
In Tucumcari, the night before the tour, there will be a free music event where participants can pick up registration packets, enjoy food from local trucks, shop at the silent auction, and relax with new or old friends. This event is open to everyone and is a wonderful way to kick off the motor tour.
Whether participating in the motor tour or just enjoying the pre-tour festivities, the Old Route 66 Association of Texas invites everyone to experience the fun, food, and music that make this event unforgettable.
