Join the City of St. Robert for the official opening and lighting ceremony of Missouri’s first Route 66 Neon Park. The event starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9, at George M. Reed Roadside Park, located along Historic Route 66 just west of the Route 66/Highway Z/Missouri Avenue junction.
The park features restored neon signs from former Route 66 businesses between St. Louis and Carthage. These signs were once left abandoned or damaged but have now been carefully restored and installed along a lit walking path. Visitors can view the signs up close and read storyboards about their history.
This is a chance to see pieces of Route 66 history light up the night once again. Admission and parking are free.
