The annual Historic Route 66 Fun Run is a three-day celebration of classic cars, community spirit, and the legendary Mother Road. Organized by the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona, this event brings together over 800 vehicles and thousands of enthusiasts for a weekend of festivities along a scenic 140-mile stretch of Route 66. The journey kicks off in Seligman, the birthplace of Historic Route 66, where participants can register Friday afternoon before joining a lively evening car cruise down Main Street.
On Saturday morning, the event’s founder, Angel Delgadillo, signals the start of the car parade, sending a procession of vintage vehicles from Seligman to Kingman. Along the way, Peach Springs hosts a Hualapai Children’s Art Expo with cultural performances, while Kingman welcomes participants with a Show N Shine Car Show, where enthusiasts can have their vehicles judged. The evening wraps up with a nostalgic Sock Hop Ice Cream Social at the Best Western Plus Kings Inn & Suites.
On Sunday, the event continues with a breakfast and awards ceremony at Locomotive Park in Kingman before participants hit the road for the final leg of the journey to Oatman and Topock/Golden Shores. In Topock, attendees cross the finish line, collect their commemorative patches, and celebrate with a community BBQ, car show, and live music. With events happening in nearly every town along the route, the Fun Run offers the perfect opportunity to experience the best of Route 66’s charm, culture, and camaraderie.
