As part of the Route 66 Centennial, Tulsa’s historic Circle Cinema is hosting a monthly Route 66 Film Series throughout 2026. Each screening celebrates the Mother Road through documentaries and classic films connected to Route 66 history, culture, and communities. Before each main feature, guests can enjoy vintage clips, advertisements, and travelogues, along with opportunities to learn about other Route 66 centennial events and share memories with fellow Route 66 fans.
Circle Cinema sits on the original 1926–1932 alignment of Route 66 and first opened in 1928, making it a fitting venue for this centennial series. Now Tulsa’s only nonprofit movie theater, Circle Cinema specializes in independent film, local productions, and special programming.
The series continues with the 1969 film Easy Rider. An icon of counterculture cinema, this movie follows two motorcyclists traveling west across the United States, with several scenes filmed along Route 66. The film captures the freedom, tension, and changing landscape of America during the late 1960s.
Tickets are $6.60 for Circle Cinema members and $10 for non-members. Additional films will be announced as the series continues.
