Experience the magic of the holidays and the nostalgia of the Mother Road at the Route 66 Christmas Chute in Sapulpa, Oklahoma! This festive event brings together the sparkling lights of Christmas with the legendary shine of Route 66 for a holiday celebration you won’t want to miss.
Debuting in 2022, the Route 66 Christmas Chute has quickly become a beloved annual tradition. Created by local businessman Will Berry to draw folks to this Route 66 town, it’s been a roaring success, with visitors flocking to experience the holiday cheer.
For several blocks, Main Street in Sapulpa transforms into a winter wonderland. Canopies packed with twinkling lights and themed decorations line the street, inviting you to take a stroll through 1,000 feet of Christmas magic. With 10 different themes, from snowmen and candy canes to elves and, of course, Route 66, the dazzling display includes 8,500 icicles, 1,100 giant ornaments, and over 35,000 lights.
There’s no shortage of photo ops either! Snap a picture with cutouts, pose in a pop-in ornament, visit the towering Christmas tree, or meet Santa himself. Plus, the local businesses stay open for holiday shopping and dining, while food trucks serve up quick bites and hot cocoa to keep you warm as you soak in the festive glow.
It’s the perfect blend of holiday joy and Route 66 history, lighting up the heart of Sapulpa!
