Mother Road Museum Reopening

The Route 66 Mother Road Museum in Barstow, California, will be reopening on March 22, 2025, after being closed since summer 2024. This highly anticipated event, held at the historic Harvey House, will feature a grand re-opening ribbon-cutting ceremony from 10 AM to 2 PM. The celebration will include food trucks, live entertainment, motorcycle clubs, special tributes, and more. The event will also honor American road culture icon Robert Petersen with a lifetime tribute, and keynote speaker GiGi C. will share insights into Petersen’s lasting impact. As a vital part of Route 66 history, the museum will continue to highlight the iconic road’s role in shaping American transportation. This reopening event is expected to attract visitors from across California and the country, rejuvenating Barstow’s tourism ahead of the Route 66 Centennial in 2026.
