“Main Street of America” Route 66 Centennial Caravan

June 5 - June 24

Event Website

Spanning all 2,448 miles of the Mother Road, the “Main Street of America” Route 66 Centennial Caravan is the Official Caravan of the U.S. Route 66 Centennial Commission. This once-in-a-century event brings together all eight Route 66 states in a moving celebration of the highway’s 100th birthday.

Organized by the Route 66 Road Ahead Partnership, this cross-country caravan will serve as a symbolic parade—rolling through communities big and small, offering each one a chance to join the national celebration. It’s a tribute to Route 66’s role as America’s “Main Street,” connecting people and places across the heartland and beyond.

The caravan will highlight preservation success stories along the route, while also shining a spotlight on the ongoing need for investment in America’s most iconic highway. At the heart of the effort is the Route 66 Centennial Preservation and Economic Development Grant Program, which supports infrastructure, culture, and community development across all eight states.
