International Slow Art Day on Route 66

Slow Art Day is an annual global event aimed at encouraging people to slow down and enjoy art. On Saturday, April 5, 2025, the fourth annual Slow Art Day on Route 66 will take place in Bloomington-Normal, making it the largest citywide celebration in the world with 20 participating local art organizations. Visitors can explore art at museums, galleries, and sculpture parks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This inclusive event offers a chance to engage with art without needing any prior knowledge, allowing participants to discover the joy of looking at and interacting with artwork at their own pace. Local artists, galleries, and arts organizations will be featured, with opportunities for artmaking, exploration, and connection. Come take a moment to practice being present and experience art in a new way!
