Get ready for a celebration that only comes around once in a century. On May 1 at 6:00 pm, the National Celebrate America on Route 66 Parade rolls into Springfield with a tribute to 100 years of the Mother Road.
This free-to-watch parade is both a procession and a moving snapshot of Route 66 history. Vehicles are limited to model years 1926–1985, the official years Route 66 was a commissioned U.S. highway. Expect everything from early touring cars and polished chrome cruisers to hot rods, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, and the classic rides that defined generations of Route 66 road trips. (Registration is required for vehicles participating in the parade.)
Want to be part of the lineup? Car owners can apply to participate at Route66kickoff.com/cars.
The National Route 66 Centennial Kickoff Celebration is presented by Vital Farms and supported by O’Reilly Auto Parts, Show-Me America 250, Multipli, AAA, and Hotel Vandivort.
