Celebrate one of Route 66’s quirkiest roadside icons at the Route 66 Blue Hippo Festival! This family-friendly, blue-themed event honors Edmond’s beloved Blue Hippo statue with a day full of art, music, games, and good old-fashioned silliness.
Created as a grassroots community celebration by the Edmond History Museum, the festival blends local history with playful fun—from live hippo art and blue classic cars to Hungry Hungry Hippos battles, Hot Wheels races, and Route 66 trivia with prizes.
The festival takes place every other year and will return in 2026, perfectly timed with the Route 66 Centennial.
