As you travel Route 66 through Luther, Oklahoma, look out for a burst of bright orange lighting up the roadside: the 30-foot-tall Visit Luther sign. Designed to grab attention like a classic Vegas marquee, this retro landmark is hard to miss. It’s the perfect place to pull over, snap a photo, and maybe even follow the arrow to see what Luther has waiting just off the highway.

Crafted with midcentury flair, the geometric sign reads “Visit Luther Oklahoma” and is surrounded by glowing vintage-style stars. A large arrow cuts through the center, pointing south toward Main Street, Luther’s central hub, where you’ll find local restaurants, shops, and outdoor spaces to explore. The sign sits right on the original Route 66 alignment and was designed by Cameron Eagle of Ink Ranch Inc. with fabrication by G&S Signs, Inc.

It was made possible thanks to a $77,000 Oklahoma Route 66 Project grant from the Oklahoma Route 66 Commission, and it stands on land generously donated by Mark and Teri Stroud of Couch Pecan Orchard/Orchard on 66.

If you’re visiting the nearby Historic Threatt Filling Station, this is an easy and memorable stop along the way. Whether by day or night (when the neon is fully aglow), the Visit Luther sign is a great way to experience a little extra Route 66 magic.
