Tulsa Fire Station 66 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is more than a working firehouse, it’s a tribute to the spirit of Route 66. Located right on the Mother Road, the station is dedicated to protecting life, health, property, and the environment while honoring the highway it serves.

Originally known as Tulsa Fire Station 30, the station was rebranded in 2020 to Tulsa Fire Station 66 as a nod to their location on Route 66. Along with the new name came a new logo and the slogan “Keepers of the Mother Road,” proudly displayed on their fire trucks.

Today, the station also serves as a roadside attraction for Route 66 travelers. Visitors can stop in to get their Route 66 passports stamped, take photos, and even enjoy a quick tour of the station.

In 2022, the station received a towering Route 66 sign donated by a supporter, now displayed on the front lawn. Then in February 2024, they welcomed a restored 1950 Pirsch fire truck back home. The truck originally served Tulsa during Route 66’s golden years before continuing service in Depew and retiring in 2007. Now, it’s proudly parked outside the station alongside the sign, both visible from the road and perfect for photo ops.
