While this Route 66 Uniroyal Gal is always visible, the shop has limited hours, typically 10 :00 am–5:30 pm Monday-Saturday and 10:00 am-5:00 pm Sunday (though hours may be adjusted seasonally or for holidays).
Is there parking available?
There’s customer and curb parking in the East 11th Street area around Buck Atom’s, with plenty for cars and motorcycles making short Route 66 stops. If you’re driving a very large RV, plan to park a short walk away or call ahead for the best spot.
What is a Uniroyal Gal roadside attraction?
In the 1960s, International Fiberglass produced a female giant similar to the muffler man, now known as The Uniroyal Gal. These giant women were originally commissioned by Uniroyal Tires to stand outside and advertise their businesses. Thought to be inspired by Jackie Kennedy, the Uniroyal Gal was more of a fashion icon, and came with a choice of outfit: a skirt or a bikini.
