Spencer Station in Miller, Missouri is a roadside relic that’s pure 1930s Americana. Built in the 1920s, this gem once bustled with both travelers and locals, who’d pull in for a fill-up, grab a snack, or fix up a Model T in the garage. This spot wasn’t just a gas station; it was the heart of the community, where tall tales and friendly faces were as common as the gasoline.

But even as new highways lured travelers off Route 66, Spencer Station held on. Restored today to its original glory, it’s a true slice of Route 66 history. Those iconic bright-orange gas pumps may not fuel cars anymore, but they still pack a vintage punch, welcoming visitors to the nostalgic general store and garage, both complete with retro signage. It’s the perfect place for a Route 66 selfie or a moment to soak in a simpler time when the journey was just as important as the destination.

Spencer Station may not stock groceries anymore, but it’s rich in history and road-trip spirit, keeping America’s Main Street alive. You can stop by and check out the buildings at any time from outside and they open most weekends for visitors to come inside to check out the preservation progress. Look for the ‘Come On In’ sign out front!
