Located in Old Town, Albuquerque, the Rattlesnake Museum & Gift Shop celebrates all things serpentes. The Albuquerque museum’s mission is to correct common reptilian misconceptions and, with around 34 different varieties of live rattlesnakes, it is home to the world’s largest collection of different species (they say they have more than the Bronx Zoo, Philadelphia Zoo, National Zoo, Denver Zoo,San Francisco Zoo, and San Diego Zoo combined!). The museum was opened on May 5, 1990 by native Albuquerque resident and former high school biology teacher Bob Myers.

Snake through the rooms of the museum to find different species at every corner. Get up close and observe the snakes in glass tanks furnished with greenery and hiding spaces typical of their native habitats.

You’ll also be able to explore snake and snake-related memorabilia, artwork, artifacts, study materials, and educational tools, and shop the gift shop for the perfect snake souvenir. Your admission price comes with a Certificate of Bravery as reward for courageously making it through.
