MissouriDining

Missouri Hick Bar-B-Que in Cuba, Missouri offers a fun stop with delicious food right on Route 66.

Missouri Hick is the brainchild of master barbecuer and woodworker Dennis Meiser, whose handcrafted touch is apparent in everything from the pork to the portico. He opened the restaurant in 2002, serving delicious food to locals and Route 66 travelers ever since (minus a brief closure after a fire in 2011).

Enjoy a unique dining experience with handmade wooden table and chairs, a corrugated tin ceiling, a mosaic Route 66 map, curated memorabilia studded decor, and an impressive cedar staircase that leads to a second level.

Choose from a variety of barbecued meats, including ribs, pulled pork, brisket, turkey, chicken, and sausage, each seasoned with a specialty run and smoked for twelve hours overnight. Eat as a plate, a sandwich, or even topping a baked potato with homemade sides like baked beans, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, fries, and cucumber and onion.

And don’t forget the sauces, enhance your entree with one of seven barbecue sauces, including original, honey, spicy sweet, spicy and smoky, sweet and smoky, and flaming hot.
