Know Before You Go
To make the most of your visit to the Little Louie the Lumberjack Statue in Flagstaff, Arizona, here are some things to know before you go.
What is Little Louie the Lumberjack?
Little Louie is a carved wooden lumberjack statue and longtime Route 66 roadside attraction in Flagstaff. He originally stood outside the historic Lumberjack Café (later known as Granny’s Closet) and is one of the remaining physical reminders of Flagstaff’s mid-century “giant statue” roadside era. Unlike the towering fiberglass “Muffler Men” nearby in town, Little Louie is a smaller, hand-carved wooden figure (roughly 10 feet tall) made from a tree trunk and installed as part of the café’s original roadside décor.
Where is Little Louie located?
Little Louie was located near 218 S. Milton Road in Flagstaff, Arizona, along Historic Route 66. The statue sat in a parking lot space that once belonged to the Lumberjack Café and later Granny’s Closet.
Little Louie has since been moved indoors at Northern Arizona University campus. His current location is unknown.
