What are the hours of operation?
Posted hours are daily, 9:00 am–4:00 pm. Travelers report that the shop isn’t always open exactly on schedule, so treat the outdoor attractions as the sure bet and the indoor shopping as a bonus.
What’s the big, can’t-miss thing to see outside?
The headliner is what the trading post advertises as the “World’s Largest Petrified Tree”—an enormous, broken stump and huge chunks of petrified wood displayed right on the grounds.
What else is on the property besides petrified wood?
The parking-lot area has decorative teepees, big pottery, old wagons, and more petrified wood pieces scattered around for photos.
What souvenirs are available to buy inside?
Inside you’ll find Route 66 souvenirs plus local crafts, rocks/minerals, and the usual trading-post treasure hunt of postcards, trinkets, and road-trip mementos.
