What is the giant rocking chair?
The Route 66 Red Rocker is a massive steel rocking chair that stands approximately 42 feet tall and more than 20 feet wide. When it was completed in 2008, it earned recognition as the world’s largest rocking chair and quickly became one of Missouri’s most famous Route 66 landmarks.
Another rocking chair in Casey, Illinois eventually surpassed it in size. Today, the Fanning chair is generally promoted as the second-largest rocking chair in the world and the largest rocking chair on Route 66.
