Fake Blarney Stone

Shamrock, Texas

TexasRoadside Attraction

Top O’ the mornin to ya from Shamrock, Texas! This small town on Route 66 celebrates its Irish heritage in many ways. If you’re searching for their famed piece of Ireland’s Blarney Stone…this isn’t it. But this Fake Blarney Stone is still a roadside attraction worth seeking out. But maybe not worth kissing.

Blarney Castle, just outside of Cork, Ireland, is home to the famous Blarney Stone. Legend says if you kiss it, you’ll be blessed with the gift of gab. This Shamrock, Texas attraction is far from that original in both location and style. A shaped stone slab in a park reads, “Top O’ the mornin to ya! from Shamrock, Texas. Kiss this Blarney Stone for everlasting good luck!”

But don’t be fooled: this is not a piece of the original attraction. Down the street in Blarney Stone Plaza you will find an authentic piece of the Blarney Stone encased in a concrete pillar. This one is a total fake.
