If you’re road tripping along Route 66 in the Mojave Desert or heading off toward Las Vegas, a short detour to EddieWorld in Yermo, California is well worth your time. Opened in 2018, this stop has been nicknamed the “Disneyland of Gas Stations.”

EddieWorld is officially the largest gas station in California, with 26 fuel pumps, EV chargers, and spotless restrooms that travelers rave about. But what really makes it stand out is what’s inside. Step through the doors and you’ll find a 27,000-square-foot candy store, packed with chocolates, gummies, dried fruit, nuts, popcorn, and sweets from around the world. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll want to wander the aisles for a while.

Hungry for more than candy? EddieWorld has you covered with freshly made sandwiches, salads, sushi, pizza, chicken tenders, and burgers. There’s also homemade ice cream, a Peet’s Coffee, and plenty of snacks to keep your car stocked.

And of course, you can’t miss the 65-foot-tall ice cream sundae water tank that towers over the parking lot, complete with sprinkles, straws, and a cherry on top. This quirky roadside landmark can be spotted from the freeway and makes for a perfect photo stop.

While EddieWorld isn’t directly on Route 66, it’s a popular detour for travelers looking to fuel up, stretch their legs, and load up on candy before heading east toward Barstow or north toward Las Vegas.

Is EddieWorld located on Route 66?

Not exactly. It sits just off I-15 in Yermo, about 12 miles east of Barstow. But for Route 66 travelers or those detouring en route to Las Vegas, it’s a quick and worthwhile side trip. It calls itself “California’s largest gas station,” and it’s easy to spot thanks to a 65-foot ice-cream-sundae-styled water tank out front.

Is this a good place to get gas in California? What about EV charging?
